Hotel Le Festival
We kept this hotel in our selection for its spa: a sauna-and-jacuzzi setup built into...
Hotel Mondial sits directly on rue d'Antibes, the shopping street that runs parallel to the Croisette, a position that puts boutiques, bistros and the beach itself all within a short walk. The hotel belongs to Best Western's Premier Collection, a tier reserved for independently minded properties rather than standard chain rooms, and the forty-nine rooms and suites reflect that: balconies, sea-view terraces and balneo bathtubs feature across the higher categories, uncommon details for a hotel this central. A rooftop terrace tops the building, a quiet retreat above the rue d'Antibes crowds that most guests only discover once they have checked in, and a welcome contrast to the shopping-street bustle at street level.
We chose Hotel Mondial for a combination rarely found on rue d'Antibes itself: genuine sea-view Prestige suites with private terraces, balneo bathtubs in the Superior category, and a rooftop terrace, at a central address usually reserved for straightforward business hotels. Every room carries an espresso machine and bathrobes rather than the bare minimum, and the Premier Collection positioning means the property reads more like an independent boutique than a franchise once inside. It is a practical choice for travellers who want the Croisette on foot and a proper view from the room, without the price tag of a beachfront palace.
Rue d'Antibes is Cannes's main shopping street, lined with boutiques and restaurants, and the Croisette beachfront is a short walk away through the side streets. The Palais des Festivals sits close enough to matter during the festival, the Old Town of Le Suquet is about a kilometre off, and the ferry to the Lérins Islands departs from a jetty roughly half a kilometre away. The address trades a direct sea view at street level for being in the middle of everything Cannes visitors actually walk to, with higher-floor rooms and the Prestige terraces making up the difference in outlook.

The room range runs from Comfort through Deluxe and Superior, the latter available with a city view or a balneo bathtub, up to Junior Suites and Prestige rooms with sea views and private terraces. Every category is soundproofed and air-conditioned, with a flat-screen television, minibar, safe and espresso machine as standard, and bathrobes supplied throughout rather than reserved for the top categories. Bed configurations run to queen, king or twin, which makes the hotel workable for solo travellers, couples and small groups alike without having to trade down on comfort or view.
Dogs under ten kilograms are welcome in a limited number of rooms for a daily fee, with other pets considered on request, a detail worth checking before booking if travelling with an animal. The hotel does not operate its own car park, so arriving by car in central Cannes means budgeting for nearby paid parking, a common trade-off for an address this central. For the best return on the Premier Collection positioning, a Junior Suite or Prestige category is worth the upgrade: the sea view and private terrace are what separate this hotel from a standard rue d'Antibes business stay, and they are the detail guests mention most once they have stayed in one.
